I wanted this kit to have a whimsical mixed media magical feel to it, inspired by Laly’s beautiful artwork.

So what’s in the kit!? 

PAINT

If you have opted to add the Little Rainbow Moon handmade watercolour paints you will either have one of the following or the whole set.

DUSKY ROSE - A beautiful dusky pink shimmer.

OPALITE -  A magical colour shift. Shifting from shimmering ivory to pastel pink as it catches the light. 

CHAMPAGNE SUPERNOVA - The palest delicate gold/ivory colour shift.

Both ‘opalite’ and ‘champagne supernova’ work well on both black and white paper. I also love to use them splattered over darker matte colours. Rain grey being the perfect base choice.

RAIN GREY - My version of Payne’s Grey.’ A colour named after a 18th century painter; William Payne. I called it ‘Rain Grey’ as it really reminds me of those rainy English skies. 

Payne’s grey is made from the pigments ultramarine, black and burnt sienna. I had so much fun getting the combination just how I wanted it. The result is a beautiful translucent grey with wonderful depth and granulation. You can see parts where the blue and sienna come out as it dries.

STICKERS

You have two sheets of stickers. The first is a set of pretty moths and botanicals. The second is a set of squares using Lali’s beautiful artwork. 

COLLAGE/ART JOURNAL ELEMENTS 

 As usual you have some collage elements. Combining watercolour and collage in my journal spreads and art work is one of my favourite things to do. I’ve chosen a mix of textures and muted pinks, greys and earth colours to reflect the mixed media feel of Laly’s work.
